Laura Akers

Laura Akers Was at Comic-Con last year and Edward James Olmos was signing autographs. I hadn't been watching BSG, so looked at him and thought "Hmm, it's that Miami Vice guy." So lame. Am up to Season 3 now and feeling ashamed!

Alexis ッ Woodbury I hate that whenever I mention this show I have to give a 10minute disclaimer, like "Okay, before you dismiss what I'm about to tell you, I suggest you STOP thinking about Star wars and Star Trek. The name of the show is the name of a ship. I swear there are no aliens, just robots who'll f**k your brains out" Then as s...oon as I say "Battelstar Galactica" everyone sighs and stops listening. This is seriously one of the best shows in the universe, and I'm a pretty tough critic. I wish it didnt get so much heat for its name

You're not the only one. I'm going to film school, and when I try to explain "Battlestar Galactica" to my classmates, they keep saying, "But its science fiction." like they can't look beyond the genre.

Daniel Strickland A little bit of amusing irony: In two separate parts of the series (the mini-series and Season 2's "Flight of the Phoenix"), two separate characters (Tigh in the mini, Gaeta in "Flight of the Phoenix") stated that if they used the FTL, that the ship would "most likely end up in the middle of the sun." The irony? In ...the end of the series, the Galactica DID end up in the middle of the sun.

Chris Keig Truly an amazing show. Watching it a second time over. Cried so much when I watched the last episodes, they were brilliant. Best show ever made, possibly that will ever be made.

Actually, Edward James Olmos suggested that fans of "Battlestar Galactica" rewatch the whole series, and at the end, watch "Blade Runner" to see a rather interesting continuity of story. Since "Blade Runner" inspired both David Eick and Ronald Moore for the show, by watching "Blade Runner" after rewatching the whole series, you get a different outlook on the film and how it sort of seems like an ongoing continuation of the show (though it was made first).

You're welcome. :) "Blade Runner" is considered one of the essential sci-fi movies to watch. Plus, Edward James Olmos plays in "Blade Runner" as a character named Gaff. If you pick up "Blade Runner" try for either "The Director's Cut" or "The Finale Cut" (both are almost the same, except for "The Final Cut", it has a few extra seconds of footage and a change in color in certain scenes).

Craig To expess our theories about why we exist is the fundamental reason why good sci-fi is so successful. Sc-Fi pushes the boundaries and asks the questions that no other genre dares to question. BSG dares to suggest that we have been on this earth for a very long time; we could have originated from another planet - themes that i find fascinating.

Its a mod for Battlefield II. There's also another game I know of that was being worked on. Haven't heard anything new about it. It's called Diaspora, and it's a game built from scratch using the Freespace 2 engine (and some of the people who were working on "Battlestar Galactica: Beyond the Red Line" are actually involved with it). You can ... See Morecheck it out here: http://diaspora-game.com/

As of right now, and all the research I've done in BSG related mods for games, "The Sims 2" has the least material BSG related (Star Trek and Star Wars has a lot more custom content). I think the reason why for the lack of such material is because for some reason, a lot of people think the show is basically fighting Cylons in space craft. A small number of mods actually allow for fighting Cylons in a 1st Person POV, while a majority of them are more focused on the spacecraft battles. But, with the lack of materials for games like "The SIms 2" and "The Movies", it doesn't allow for fans to create or enjoy their own personal dramatic stories that the show is also known for. It also cuts down the amount of BSG related machinima.

I used to be a fan of "Farscape" before Sci-Fi prematurely cancelled it before its completion (I still haven't forgive Bonnie Hammer for that, even if she did sign off on BSG). I've checked out a couple of episodes of "Firefly", as well as the "Serenity" movie. It's not exactly my taste, but its not bad as a sci-fi western series.

Daniel Strickland A little bit of a lame BSG joke (Pre-Season 4): How many human Cylons does it take to screw in a light bulb? None. They get a Centurion to do it.
