With report card results in and parent-teacher conferences completed, what strategy has been most helpful in addressing your child’s ADHD needs in school this year?
Facebook User Making sure that I have daily email contact with the teacher and making sure my son and I discuss his behavior everyday after school. |
Facebook User Staying in regular contact with my son's teacher has helped alot. If he has a bad day or something happens, we talk about what may have caused it and what we can do to keep it from happening again. |
I constantly am emailing teachers and staying on top of my childs needs daily if need be. Getting an IEP or a 504 plan really helps to have all teachers on same page with all the needs, however the email system is great to make sure they are all abiding by it. Otherwise I am onto the school counselor to address any changes that need be done. Homework seems to be the struggle in our household (and how much my child 'loves' school....not!) |
Good communication with teachers/school. This along postive reinforcement from the teaching staff has really helped out son. |

News from Your ADHD Moms Leaders
Thank you from Dr. Quinn:
As I look over the wall of comments made by moms just like you, I am struck by your love and acceptance of your children and how you take such great pleasure in small everyday accomplishments. While they may not be winning gold medals – yet! – your child may now be reading a book by himself for the first time, getting a star every day at school for a week, adapting to a sudden family relocation or playing the clarinet in the school band… and you are loving every minute of it. As one mom said, “Everyday is an achievement.” As difficult as it may be at times, your belief in and support of your child will be the engine that propels him or her into the future: a future filled with achievement and many more days of “I did it!” On behalf of the ADHD Moms community, thank you all for sharing your special ADHD Moms Moments.
