So, it's kind of like this:
Allis-Chalmers marries Deutz. After a couple of years, they divorce, and Allis re-marries Gleaner. Allis & Gleaner have a baby, and name it AGCO (after themselves, of course). Then they adopt Massey Ferguson, Challenger (a new born from CAT), Valtra, and Fendt. A few years later, MF, Challeng...er, Fendt, and Valtra gang up and kill AGCO, trying to act as though nothing happened. However, AGCO was the most popular with its customers, and they certainly notice AGCO's absence. I hope justice is served.Read More

A history lesson. allis went broke, Deutz-fahr bought allis and closed it down to sell deutz tractors in the states, A management buy out to form agco. Agco now gets same tractors painted AGCO ALLIS to sell and WHITE build the large tractors with air cooled DEUTZ engines, Agco want to build tractors they buy White farm equipment. now they have a ... Read Morelarge tractor but no small tractors, They now buy Massey Ferguson, They put a cummins motor in the massey and call them WHITE tractors and They put SISU motor in the Massey and call it an AGCO ALLIS, after a few years they drop the white line and call them AGCO tractors, They sent a few 9240(a white tractor with cummins motor) to europe but they were under speced for europe, they started putting the flunk transmission in the massey but wanted somthing more, They Buy FENDT to get their hand on the Best CVT on the market and they buy VALTRA to get an ENGINE Put all this together and you get a Tractor assembled in france , with a german transmission, a finnish engine, with a massey cab and styling. Paint this tractor 3 or four different colours and you get A MASSEY FERGUSON, CHALLENGER, AGCO and ISEKI, that why they all had black chassis. I hope this clears this up ,I think you all need to buy the BOOK the complete history of AGCO tractor. There on ebay. i have been to the factory in france to see this all first hand, as you walk down the line you can see all the different tractor for the different countries with different specs.

Thank you for clearing this all up Mr. Cochrane, and he is 100% correct for I have the book as well, won in that photo contest a while back. And sorry Bane I ment to put down Deutz-Fahr, but the way I see it now, it looks like SAME has taken complete control over management of Deutz.

When i was in the state's 12 months ago one dealer told me that the agco line was going to be dropped then,i am suprised that it has taken this long for the announcement to become offical. This should have given alot of dealers enough time to get customers use to the idea of the new colour. If you what you can still buy an orange tractor in europe you just need to order it, My last two tractors went through the factory with my name on them.

AGCO has been wanting to dump the orange for sometime now, I first heard about a year ago, all the AGCO dealers knew it was coming, it was only a matter of time.

I understand, you are finding it hard to believe that you have been using Massey, Valtra, and Fendt tech, for so many years and not realizing it cause it was hiding under a different color and sticker. AGCO will not offer me a chance to purchase a Valtra S series, my brand, so I don't even have a large tractor to support. Well I do, it is just ... Read Morered and yellow, but I would like to have one that said Valtra on and only Valtra. But AGCO will not allow that tractor to be hear cause it competes with the large Massey, Challenger, AGCO tactor, and Fendt tractor.

The number one reasone AGCO dropped the AGCO Tractor line is volume and dealership presence. Now there are places I'm sure in the US that orange out sold Red and Yellow combined. However, there appears to be a few pockets in the US of farmers and dealers that still cannot come to terms with the fact that AGCO is an AGCO and not an Allis Chalmers ... Read Moreproduct. I hate to break it to them but this is a global economy and AGCO is a very large global company. I highly doubt they are going to feel much pain from a very small percentage of their business. I'm just guessing but I doubt the total $ amount of AGCO tractors sold in any of the past 5 years has been more than 1% of AGCO's total global sales.
