What started with slight weakness in his right hand left Thomas W. Ohlson with a lucid mind trapped inside a body that stopped working. Ohlson, a father of three from Hollywood, was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis -- also known as Lou Gehrig's disease -- in 2005.

The ALS Association Florida Chapter Happy Veterans Day! Thanks to all of you who have served our country... especially those now suffering with ALS. It's time to find out why vets are twice as likely to be diagnosed.
The ALS Association Florida Chapter appeared before the Duval County Legislative Delegation yesterday and the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation this morning asking them to help us determine the best way to ensure better education on ALS for healthcare professionals. We were received very positively. Next step is working on a Bill.
