Featuring antique engines, tractors and Model A cars on display during Helldorado Days in Tombstone, AZ. The model A cars will be on display Saturday, October 17th only. The Antique power show is located adjacent to Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park at 3rd and Toughnut Streets. For information please call (520) ...457-3311. Scheduling and availability of this program is subject to change without notice.
The antique engines and tractors are provided by Power from the Past Association. "Power from the Past" comprises the sources of mechanical energy used in the home, on the farm, and in industry, mining and oil pumping before electricity became readily available. The turn of the last century (1800s to 1900s) saw the use of a vast array of engines and tractors powered by steam, kerosene, gasoline and natural gas that brought power where it was needed to make life easier or more productive. Many of these "antiques" are still in working order but others require much rehabilitation and attention before they will "breathe" again. Photo courtesy Power from the Past Association.
Time:9:00AM Saturday, October 17th
Location:Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park

Arizona State Parks Stock up during our annual fundraiser event, which continues daily through Oct. 25. Seasonal plant sales help support conservation, research and education here at BTA. Catherine “The Herb Lady” Crowley will give a short lecture and share herbal cuisine Oct. 9 during our popular “Members' Only Preview Friday” when BTA a...nnual members enjoy 20-percent savings on all plant purchases (books and other items, too!). Catherine’s presentation (and food sampling!) are both open to nonmembers, but you need to be among annual members for that 20-percent savings on plants.

Arizona State Parks The Sonoran Desert is considered lush by desert standards. With enough rainfall, the desert blooms and mountain ranges glow with golden Mexican poppies and blue lupine. Stately saguaro cacti show off their waxy white flowers, as do palo verde trees with their clusters of yellow. Hikers going into the Superstition Wilde...rness or the Catalina Mountains will experience a desert unlike what they’re used to seeing. Arizona’s, and indeed America’s, history is told in tales from the oldest settlement at Tubac and the Wild West heyday at Tombstone. Grab your camera and your sense of adventure while traveling through history at the many historic towns in the region.

Arizona State Parks Many Arizonans know to head north for cooler weather, winter snow and relief from the summer heat. Northern Arizona is also home to mountains and pine trees, including the largest ponderosa pine forest in North America. Trails wind through mountains and mesas, and offer wide-open vistas to hikers, wildlife watchers, mo...untain bikers and equestrians. One of Arizona’s last free-flowing rivers, the Verde River, cuts through the Verde Valley before winding down the state providing prime paddling opportunities.

Arizona State Parks The eastern part of Arizona is a delight for outdoor enthusiasts with its many trails and clear skies. Anglers can enjoy fishing at lakes such as Lyman Lake, Show Low Lake and Fool Hollow Lake. And for water skiing enthusiasts, Lyman Lake has a water ski course available to run. Archaeology comes alive at sites around ...the region, especially Romero Ruins at Catalina State Park or on the Ultimate Petroglyph trail at Lyman Lake State Park.
