Aaron Read & Associates In this season of giving, it is sad to note that the killing of peace officers in the line of duty is up 24% in the United States in 2009. The best gift would be safer streets.

Aaron Read & Associates Unfortunately, The LAO has just released their forecast for California’s General Fund revenues and expenditures... And it is not pretty. The upcoming budget problem consists of a $6.3 billion projected deficit for 2009–10 and a $14.4 billion gap between projected revenues and spending in 2010–11. This makes for a to...tal of $20.7 billion. Addressing this large shortfall will require painful choices—on top of the difficult choices the Legislature made earlier this year. Check out Kevin Yamamura's story from the Bee today.
