48 students from around the United States came for a 5 day leadership development camp in July. The purpose of this program was not only to develop leadership skills but give the students a platform from which to share their views on the major public issues of our time.
Hosting the week long session was the National C...enter for Policy Analysis, the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum and Oklahoma Christian University's Academy of Leadership & Liberty.

Academy of Leadership & Liberty On July 2, 2008, fiftteen business women from Rwanda, Africa traveled to Oklahoma for a month long training course on business, entrepreneurship, and leadership. The women participated in class sessions, taught by Dr. Don Drew as well as local entrepreneurs, for three weeks. The fourth week was spent living and mentoring with a woman business owner in Oklahoma.

Academy of Leadership & Liberty On June 9, 2008 we had the privelege of having 40 students come to the campus of OC for a week long leadership training camp. As with all Academy of Leadership & Liberty programs, this program seeks to assist young people to develop into character filled, ethical leaders for the future of this state and the world. All... the way through the program, students were challenged to consider the ethical aspects of leadership and were prompted to consider the role of character and character development in the leader.

On June 2, 2008 the Heart of America Gala was held at the Skirvin Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. We used this facility because the Skirvin Towers was the first place that the Freedom's Forum met in 1958. In attendance that evening was Pat Boone, General Tommy Franks and Judge Kenneth Starr.
We also took the opportuni...ty to honor Mr. Truett Cathy, Founder of Chick-Fil-A with the Libertas Award. There were over 400 guests that attended that evening and it was a great way to kick off our $10 million campaign.
