I've got a Martin J12-15 and a Martin 000-15 6-string which I love. Also an older Ovation 6-string and another I picked up last year - an acoustic/electric model. But my first guitar was a nylon string Alvarez. It was a beater but I love the sound of nylon strings. I need another instrument for my "guitar tree." These reviews could not have been any more timely. Thanks!! Nick the guitar crazed crackpot, signing out.

The current (January 2010) issue of Acoustic Guitar includes a feature story on classical guitarist and composer Sergio Assad. During the interview, Assad offered to compose a piece specifically to go along with the article, and it goes without saying that we accepted his offer. As a final touch, here's a video of Assa...d's student Jon Mendle performing the tune, called "Old Palm Tree," in the Acoustic Guitar video studio.Read More
