Colorful

can view all the colors contained within Swatches Libraries without opening
each one? (Window>Swatch Libraries>User Defined) I've saved a whole bunch
of custom Libraries as ASE files, and from the names, I can't tell which is
which."
"Th...e easiest way to tell what's contained in a
Swatch Library is to give it a descriptive name, but I think you know that now.
To answer your question however, you can view the contents of ASE and AI Swatch
Libraries from within Bridge. Simply navigate to your custom Libraries in
Bridge and when you select one, you'll see all its Swatches in the Metadata
section with the color breakdown or name of each."Read More

Alison I love Illustrator. I've been using it for 15 years now. I use it every day, and am now teaching my 9 year old to use it too. Love the fact that it handle BIG files (I work in real size up to 2m square). Love the multiple artboards. Just love everything! Really great software, thanks Adobe

Adobe Illustrator CS4 Tip - Breaking Up Is Easy to Do
"If I have a file with three Artboards,
Illustrator saves all Artboards when I save the file, which is great for
keeping everything all together. BUT is there a way to save just one of these
Artboards as a separate file? I am getting around this problem by deleting the
A...rtboards that I don't need and doing a Save As (File>Save As) for just the
one Artboard that I need. It works, but it's not very elegant.
Option offering exactly what I was looking for -
'Save each Artboard to a Separate File' with a choice of All Artboards or a
Range. When I pressed OK, each Artboard was saved with the original name, plus
a 01, 02, and a 03 added to the end. My second thought was to save the file as
a PDF. So I went to File>Save As, picked Adobe PDF for Format and noticed
the same Artboard Options of All or Range. I entered the one Artboard that I
wished to separate out from the others, and pressed Save. Now that's elegant.Read More

I needed to have 10 Illustrator designs open all at one
time. So I went to File Open, and selected the first file, then Shift-clicked
on the tenth file to select all ten, and pressed Open. The files opened in the
new tabbed window look of CS4.
As I s...tarted to work, I realized that there were just nine
tabs. "Did I forget to open one?" I thought. Then I noticed the double arrows
just to the right of the last document tab on the right. I pressed this arrow
button and all open documents were listed in a popup menu, including the one
that was missing from the Tabs. It occurred to me that the double arrows only
appear when the window is not wide enough to contain Tabs for all of the open
