Alamire is about to finish the first complete recording of Cantiones Sacrae (1575) by Tallis and Byrd: the first English publishing venture (well, apart from some bawdy songs in 1530!). Petrucci, eat your heart out! This is passionate stuff... Videos of previous sessions are on this website (under, conveniently, 'Video').

Alamire Another 10/10 review from ClassicsToday.com: "The fine-tuned, well-matched, pleasingly resonant voices of Alamire ... and they do absolutely embody the meaning of the word "ensemble", which is so important in fully realizing the cumulative benefits of Josquin's carefully designed structures."

Thanks all. Well, the 15th cent. so far comes to 10 CDs (with difficult decisions on what to cut). The 16th cent. is going to be even more difficult to pin down. First (double) CD in the series should be out in the Spring/Summer of 2010. Those on the recording know what this is....!
