Is the fact that fertility rates are falling around the world a good thing? According to the Economist, the answer is yes. Falling birth rates in certain parts of the world are no surprise. The alarming nature of recent news is that the Economist sees this as good news...

I thought those economists would want more children in the world. Makes for plenty of repeat business. Imagine all the toys, clothes, and school supplies that weren't bought because of the anti-natalist phelosophy.

Kami I think your points are excellent ;) As for the topic on hand, I think that falling birthrates is another example at how the world is devauling life and putting more emphasis not only on themselves but also on money. The most common reason to delay having kids or not have kids that I have heard is falls along the lines of "oh I want to be ... Read Moresecure in my job" or "it's just not a good time for us" Children are very important, you don't have to take my word for it just look at Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

And scott no worries about blaming God. The last thing we would do is blame God for the blessing of raising children to be like his Son.

Growing up during the cold war, I took it for granted that things wouldn't change. In fact, I thought glasnost was a trick to flush out Soviet dissadents. Seeing the wall fall seemed impossible until it happened.

For a generation that is always on, texting is an outlet that keeps on giving. In public and private, there is never a moment when this generation feels awkward about using social media. How can Christians live like this, with no boundaries and constant social contact? On today’s program, Dr. ...

Rude is rude the rules haven't changed. When you are talking to someone they need to listen. Technology doesn't change that. I'm not going to give anyone excuses just because they have a new tool to be rude with. As a teacher I think I would tell my students they have to put their phones, ipods what ever on a shelf when coming into the class. Sort ... Read Moreof like frontier sheriff in a gun free town. Strangers got their pistols back when they left town and not before. Of course then I would be sending them to their desks where they have a computers. Computers where all social media links are blocked. Where there is a will there is a way, teachers and parents just have to have a stronger will then their students and kids - just like it's always been.

I remember having a transistor radio and earphone at my desk. I'd groove to Blue Cheer while waiting for the teacher to get her act together. Of course I'd turn it off once class started. Maybe classrooms and churches should have cell phone jammers.

We are born in a fallen, sinful state. "The wages of sin is death", some people that don't consider their situation before a holy GOD and ask for redemtion through the death, burial and resurection of JESUS CHRIST try all their lives to avoid and run away from the "inevitable" while others embrace death and seem to run towards it? Apparently this ... Read Moreman thought he could please his "god" (NOT MINE) by bringing pain, death and suffering to so many families of his "countrymen" ( he must've considered his loyalties to palestine).
