Well, since I feel this is inevitable (as Obama's cave-in speech tonight will show), all we can do is take the opportunity to get rid of the conservative Democrats in 2010 primaries. Replace with progressives. Although they may lose to the Republicans in 2010, at least we will be poised for trying again later when the voters realize they just ... See Morevoted back in the morons and racists. Then, we can get true change going again. The question is, where is Obama in all of this? There is real chance now that he will lose in 2012, even not be the Party's pick to run. How things tanked so badly from the excitement of last year is sad and frustrating. It places our country's future in real jeopardy with so many things started and not finished. The greedy rich and powerful could be back in control before we know it...

I too have lost most if not all hope. Not sure where this country is going, and may have no choice but to move somewhere else, to exist in a society more amenable to positive humane/earth friendly policies.
