America's AOC On 31 August, the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center here asked Yuma Marine Core Air Station (MCAS) Yuma to assist with a pilot who was injured when he crashed his crop duster in Yuma AZ. The MCAS launched an HH-1 helicopter to help. The helicopter picked up the pilot and transported him to a local medical facility. 1-SAVE

America's AOC The Air Force Rescue Coordination Center responded to a request from the Eagle County Sheriff Department for a high altitude capable rescue helicopter to rescue two stranded hikers. They had hiked to the top of Mt Holly Cross, CO., and were unable to climb back down. The Colorado Army National Guard launched a UH-60 ...to recover the stranded hikers and transported them to a recovery area. 2-SAVES

America's AOC On Aug. 28 Washington Emergency Management Division requested air assets from NAS Whidbey Island to conduct a rescue in Mt Townsend, WA of a 58 year-old male hiker. The hiker collapsed while hiking and was in need of immediate medical care. NAS Whidbey Island launched MH-60, rescued the hiker and transported him to a local hospital. 1-SAVE
