I grew up in Chicago and most of my family worked on railroads (I.C., Nickelplate, etc. ) have taken the Amtrak City of New Orleans from Chicago to Hammond, La many times..The ambiance is great and you have to experience the white glove service in the dining car..one day I am afraid Amtrak will loose their funding and ...be gone or severely cut back and that will be sad since a part of american history will die with it...here is a trivia point, did you know Abraham Lincoln represented the IL Central Rail Road?Read More
