"As for Empire, it's all in my book That's Me In The Corner, but since you're in Australia, Greg, I got the job of Empire editor in May 1995. Three months later, the editorship of Q magazine unexpectedly came up and I asked management if I could be moved back to Q, from when...ce I'd come. They agreed. It was never planned. Empire turned out to be a three-month editor's training course. And I was known as Andy when I was a teenager, yes. I stopped being known as Andy circa 1986."Read More

"Because I hate Facebook I will not join and am thus unable to post comments here. But in answer to a couple of questions/points raised: I do not consider myself a Doctor Who nerd, even tho...ugh I loved it when growing up and was gung ho enough for the Russell T Davies resurrection to appear on the first two series of Doctor Who Confidential, enthusing for England. This led to me being cast in a Big Finish audio adventure, playing a DJ alongside Sylvester McCoy, one of the proudest moments of my professional life. However, I think I asked what it was like on a podcast because I stopped watching it once David Tennant took the role, as I didn't like him as the Doctor. That discounts me from being a true nerd.
