John Always thought "Mayor Pike" (Dick Elliott) was a more appealing character than "Mayor Stoner" (Parley Baer). Dick really captured the character of the blustery, small-town mayor, while Mayor Stoner tended to be somewhat more antagonistic and didn't seem to quite fit in (apparently the switch in mayors occurred due to E...lliott's death)...fortunately, Mayor Stoner's term of office on the series was short-lived.
