Hi BC. Yes, we're in Sumatra - Aceh to be exact. Trying to recover from a nasty stomach bug. Might have to bus it to Banda Aceh, as we're running out of time.
I loved Danau Poso. It's a bit of a climb up there, but it's really, really beautiful. One of my favorite spots so far. Stay in Pendolo at the Pendolo Cottages. It doesn't get much more ... Read Moretranquil than that. Tip: we took the road along the western shore of the lake to Tentena. Don't! It's incredibly steep (up to 27% grades at points!).
How are the mountain roads in Sulawesi during the rainy season. We've seen many land slides out here in Sumatra. So far we managed to get past all of them, but I don't know if it would still be possible in a few months.
