These "still life" compositions are actually studies in movement--the movement that is created when your eye travels across the canvas connecting repeating colors and shapes. Form and value are key in creating believable surface transparency and reflection, while loose, expressive brush strokes convey gesture and add a semi-abstract element.

This is the beginning of a new painting in the Cape Cod series. Provincetown is at the very end of Cape Cod, a beautiful seaside village that is historic and contemporary at the same time. It is a very vibrant place, colorful in spirit and design.

Anne Kullaf - Original Paintings These are quick sketches (about 30 minutes each) done on location in acrylic on paper. Size is roughly 5x8 in. (two sketches per 9x12 sheet). I will use these as color/gesture references for a series of studio paintings of Cape Cod that I plan to do in oil.

I'm so flattered! My painting “Sunflower at the Old Factory” is touring the USA in "The New Reality" museum tour where it is being compared to a Vincent Van Gogh sunflower painting. In July 2009, my husband, Todd, and I had the opportunity to drive to the Owensboro Museum of Art in Owensboro, KY to see the exhibition …(this was the closest the tour would be exhibiting to Tennessee where we live.) We arrived at the museum and were pleasantly surprised-- The museum used my sunflower painting for all their signage and banners outside the museum to advertise the exhibition! These are the photos of that exhibit...
