Last night, the Canadian Children's Book Centre hosted a gala in which the winners of the Canadian Children's Literature Awards were announced. Eight Annick authors and illustrators were finalists, and we were thrilled to see five of them win! ...

Annick Press Mariatu Kamara, author of her memoir The Bite of the Mango, was just 12 when she was attacked by rebel soldiers during the civil war in Sierra Leone. Now she has established a foundation to help women and children in Sierra Leone, her book has been translated into many different languages, and she's doing a 5-city book tour across Europe with her co-author Susan McClelland!
