Arkansas Arts Center
Join the Arkansas Arts Center tomorrow night for Pharaoh “Philanthropy” After Dark from 3 - 8:30 p.m. The Arts Center is collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items for the Arkansas Foodbank Network. If you would like to donate food, please bring your items tomorrow.
Also, this is part of a promotion for Phar...aoh After Dark. Anyone bringing food tomorrow night will receive an additional $2 off World of the Pharaohs tickets. All tickets are $14 during Pharaoh After Dark but visitors can see the Pharaoh exhibition for just $12 when they donate food. All food collected will be donated to the Arkansas Foodbank Network. There's no better time to support AFN as their need for food is great with the Thanksgiving holiday approaching.
Plus, Craig O’Neill with Today’s THV will be here live at 5 p.m. broadcasting from the AAC (unless breaking news prohibits).
We will provide complimentary wine, beer and snacks for guests. The Pharaoh Shop, Museum Shop and the Oasis Café will all be open.
Invite your friends for a casual evening at the Arts Center. Pass this information along to your friends to see the World of the Pharaohs and support the Arkansas Foodbank Network!

A light dinner will be served after the lecture. Reservations are required, and should be made by no later than November 6. Arkansas Arts Center 's newest acquisition is here! As part of our Building the Collection series, visit the AAC and see an oil on paper by Gustave Courbet. Courbet was an innovator - in the subjects he painted, his handling of the paint medium, the way he marketed his work, and the way he lived his life. He was one of the most important figures in 19th century art. This piece is on view beginning today through January 17, 2010.

Arkansas Arts Center Join the AAC every Tuesday from 3 - 7 p.m. for Pharaoh After Dark! During this time, all tickets to World of the Pharaohs are $14 each and children under 5 are free. Don't miss Art on Tap this Friday, October 16 from 6 - 9 p.m.! Enjoy a variety of beers including an Egyptian beer brewed just for Art on Tap! Mike Byrum of Fermentables Homebrew & Wine Makers Supply in North Little Rock tells us that "Egyptians actually baked loaves of bread, crumbled them and then made beer. While we... didn’t go to that extreme, we did use common ingredients of the time including millet, barley and wheat as the primary grains". Come taste this unique beer that was brewed like the Egyptians!
