Intro
Welcome to the Band & Brown Grads Facebook page.

Here you’ll be able to find out all about us – a leading UK PR agency based in Camden, London.

And if you like what you see, this page will make applying to join us as a PR trainee as simple and easy as possible.

You can keep an eye on how our application process is going on this tab (Boxes), which also contains useful stuff like FAQs and a link to our Twitter. The Notes tab should tell you everything you need to know about our grad scheme, and if you have any questions then head over to the Wall or Discussions tabs to get an answer from us.

Answers to common questions
What will I be doing on a day to day basis?

You’ll be part of a team, getting involved from the start and no day will be the same as the next. In eight hours you could talk to five journalists, produce a film clip, help brainstorm a new campaign and then speak to researchers.

How long does the programme last? What happens when I finish?

The program lasts a year and finishes with a move up to the next level (account executive). However, if you move forward quickly we won’t hold you back and some of our trainees get promoted earlier.

Do I have to be at university to apply?

No, anybody can apply, but we’ll be interviewing in December and January for a September intake. So if you’re ready to start straight away then you can always complete a prospective application (see how to apply below). We also run work experience, internships and apprenticeships (see www.bbpr.com).

Is there any formal training?

We think that the best way to learn is by doing, so you’ll be attached to a team and work on clients from day one. We also run skills workshops for trainees covering everything from writing to social media, to help you understand the business better.

Do I need work experience to get on to the program?

No, but it certainly won’t hurt your chances. We like people with on the job skills and it doesn’t just have to be in PR. B&B people come from diverse backgrounds including advertising, design, web, events, TV and journalism.

Who are your clients?

We run campaigns for Britain’s biggest brands, across many industries. The list includes everything from huge government departments to small web start-ups. A few names you might know are ING Direct, Jobsite, Department for Work and Pensions and Edge. The job we do for each client is different, but if there’s one thing that unites our campaigns it’s a desire to change the way people think and feel.

Do I need experience in these sectors?

No, but again it wouldn’t do any harm. Don’t get too hung up on turning your CV into a novel though. This is a first step into the industry and what we’re looking for above anything else is enthusiasm, openness, drive and a creative spirit.
