I completely agree with the author. Everyone with serious health problems should read her book. I believe that the optimism movement, as well as the pink ribbon campaign have gone too far and have inadvertantly made a mockery of a devastating disease.

The negativity is very revealing, like attracts like, I am not being harsh with these words or diminishing anyone's feeling related to cancer, I am a huge supporter and have worked a s clinical social worker on cancer units....I believe this does speak volumes and there is much mis-interpretation regarding the "optimism movement"!!! What should we... Read More call it? Should people remain stuck in negativity or learn to live their best life?? Cancer can be very devastating and so can the treatments, a mind, body spirit embracing needs to take place for wellness and healing to take place. I think attaching pink ribbons to everything is the real mockery esp. when you look at the companies that are supporting the drug research.
Check the resources that I provided...wallowing in anger, self pity, despair, negativity will NOT allow anything positive in to help move one forward. Again, I feel complete empathy for the feelings this author expresses....but don't have confidence in her healing process given the tone of her attitudes.

Breast Cancer Action Wash those hands! EWG's got great tips on how to avoid harmful toxins in your soap and sanitizers this flu season

Source: ewg.org
Washing our hands is something we do many times a day because it's a proven way to kill germs. So why are we highlighting something you already do? You know, I've raised two kids with natural products, I've stayed away from them....never used crappy products like bubble bath. Go figure...one child has bladder cancer and I have thyroid cancer. What's up with that? Oh yeah, it's the "life's not fair" thing. Balloons make it better though :-)
