Its about doing due dilligence and being as educated as you can about your OWN health in order to make the best decision for YOU, not your family, not your doctor.

Every cancer is different for every person - we are not cookie cutters. Alot of what this report is saying makes sense if you truly read it. If the "numbers" are suggesting something - ... See Moredon't you think that we owe it to ourselves to look at the facts & figures? Doctors are in the business of people being sick - if people are not sick, they don't have business. We HAVE better diagnostic tools, we are just not taking full advantage of them. Try thermography. It is virtually unknown about in Fresno but has been used in every big city across the nation for years.

See Morehave posted that mammography saved their lives may have had the chance to prevent their tumors from growing to a size detectable by a mammogram. Would you not find it helpful to know that breast disease was coming BEFORE it develops? If anyone wants info on thermography you can email me thru FB.

I would support delaying mammograms until 50 IF there were other suitable, readily available and cost-effective options for screening of those under 50. Thermography is and will be great once it is more readily available and covered by insurance, which it generally isn't right now. Note, however, that even thermography can't do it all and is ... ... See MoreRead Moresupposed to be used as an adjunct to mammography. Until that is a viable option, I strongly support mammography starting at 40 (or before for those at high risk). For full disclosure, I was diagnosed with invasive bc at 37--found it myself, mammography showed something "suspicious" and biopsy confirmed it.
