John Heiss A bunch of us from the UCLA Cycling team bought the Romin saddle. Pretty nice, but I must say, the nose is a bit too wide. Maybe we just have fat thighs.

According to measurements taken on the Test saddles we have in the FIT lab, the Toupe is 4.2cm wide at the end of the cut-out and tapers down to 3.4cm at the nose. The Romin is 4.4cm at the end of the cut-out (actually the end of the plastic insert in the cut-out) and tapers to 4cm.

Why wider? In order to accomodate a groove running all the way to the tip of the saddle, thus greatly improving blood flow while "riding on the rivet".

Great question Bill! Anyone who works at a Specialized dealer can become a BG FIT Technician. At SBCU we have four levels of training someone must go through to become BG FIT Certified. First a 3-day CORE Product core, then a 3-day BG FIT course, then a 3-day Masters BG FIT course with Andy Pruitt and the staff at Boulder Center for Sports Medicine... Read More, and finally a 2-day certification exam graded by Dr. Pruitt. Currently we have hundreds who have gone through the first three levels of training and a dozen who have passed certification. Contact your Specialized rep if you're interested in pursuing this! :)
