Djeliba means a great griot, Baba means father. Since the time of Balla Fasege Kouyaté, there have been many Djeliba Baba's; as there are many today. It is a title, not a name and every culture calls into being it's own Djeliba Baba. "A ka nyi n'dogomuso, i bé kalanmuso... an bé kelen."
