Steve Moakler's MySpace says this about him, and since no one knows him better than himself, we'll let him tell you about himself:
"You're sweet, like I can't deny." These are the opening lyrics of Steve Moakler’s first full-length album, All The Faint Lights. The same words can be spoken about the music that this Pitts...burgh native has been making for the past five years. Having previously released two EPs The Weight of Words (2007) and Like I Mean It (2008), Moakler has proved himself to be a master pop craftsman with anything but faint lights in his future. Listen to his music, and you too won't deny his gift for sweet melodies and moving narratives that stick in your head like happy memories. His songs have a maturity you wouldn't expect from a young twenty-something who is quickly emerging as one of the best of a new generation of pop-rock songwriters who call Nashville home. Be sure to keep an eye out for this banana-eating, curly-headed minstrel as he continues to blaze his trail across the map.

Come out this Saturday, December 5th at 8 PM for the last concert of the semester! TJ Hester is opening.

The Barefoots Joe baristas. You know them, you love them, you buy coffee from them. They might be some of your favorite people. Well get excited, because now you have an opportunity to help some of them! Five of our baristas - Kevin Reed, Lauren Ritchie, Sarah Brubaker, Elissa Weber, and Jewel Marshall - are going on G...O Trips this year.

"So what?" you ask. Well HERE is what. During the week of November 30th - December 4th, you've got a chance to help them GO. Whenever you buy a barista's respective favorite drink, a dollar of that sale will go to the barista's fundraising efforts to go on their GO Trip!

Here are the baristas, their favorite drinks, and where they are going:
Kevin Reed (Ukraine) - Chai Latte
Lauren Ritchie (Dominican Republic) - Miele
Sarah Brubaker (Israel) - Peppermint White Mocha
Elissa Weber (Philippines) - Gingerbread Latte
Jewel Marshall (Providence) - Peppermint Mocha

Be sure you get involved in this! If you don't like any of these drinks but still want to give, we will have donation buckets in which you can put money for them.

Barefoots Joe Everyone loves Joe Garner! He and his pals Randolph Robinson and Matt Haeck have been on a little tour the past couple weeks, and it's making its way to Barefoots Joe! In addition to them, we have the wonderful Alice Hardin and Andrew Norman opening, too. It will be a folk-stravaganza! You're really going to want to be here.

It is purely coincidental. Brite Revolution is based in Nashville where there are always tons of great new artists fresh for the picking, and we love great new artists (especially nearby)!

Do you like FOOD? Well then we've got a present for you! FREE MOVIE VIEWING!! Come watch a movie about how food is made - but not in a Food Show Network kind of way. It's a documentary and people actually do more than just stand in a kitchen and talk. I'm sure it will be exciting, trust me.

Netflix will tell you this ab...out the movie:
Drawing on Eric Schlosser's Fast Food Nation and Michael Pollan's The Omnivore's Dilemma, director Robert Kenner's documentary explores the food industry's detrimental effects on our health and environment. Kenner spotlights the men and women who are working to reform an industry rife with monopolies, questionable interpretations of laws and subsidies, political ties and rising rates of E. coli outbreaks.

Saith Joy Moore:
Defiance is rated R for significant violence. Due to the nature of the film (Nazi Germany) the film can not be edited for language and violence. It is a powerful film, but does contain disturbing war related scenes. For more information, screenit.com helps viewers decide if the content is suitable for t...heir own viewing.

Saith Stephen Capps:
This movie is intense. It's CRAZY, and it's REAL, and it's GRAPHIC, and it's AMAZING. And besides, who's never heard a bad word in your life? None of you! You've got tainted ears! And who's never seen violence before? This stuff here is real! Down with Nazis! Come see how it (practically) happened! Discussion to follow.

Well I don't know about you, but I know I never saw Star Trek in theaters this summer like I wanted to. I was worried because I could not get it from Netflix until November, and I am an impatient college student! SOLUTION: WATCH IT IN BAREFOOTS JOE THIS FRIDAY. Yes, yes, I think that plan is golden. Don't worry, you do...n't have to like Star Trek to like it. Also, the producer of Lost directed this, so look for "the numbers" throughout (nope, that's a joke). Here is what Netflix says about it:

Capt. Kirk (Chris Pine) and his trusted team on the starship USS Enterprise boldly go where no man has gone before in this installment of Gene Roddenberry's sci-fi franchise that follows the early days of the intergalactic adventurers. The crew includes Spock (Zachary Quinto), Chekov (Anton Yelchin), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Scotty (Simon Pegg) and Sulu (John Cho). Eric Bana co-stars, and Leonard Nimoy appears as an older version of Spock.
