  • New look Bulls take on the Sharks this Friday

The Vodacom Bulls will face the Sharks at Loftus Versfeld on Friday with nine players who have not played for the franchise before and six who will play in their first Vodacom Super Rugby match of their career.

Vodacom Bulls coach Frans Ludeke named his side in Pretoria on Tuesday and new captain Pierre Spies will lead a side that fields debutants Francois Venter, Jacques Potgieter and Juandré Kruger in the starting team and CJ Stander, Louis Fouché and JJ Engelbrecht on the bench.

Johann Sadie (Stormers), Jano Vermaak and Willie Wepener (both Lions) played in the competition before, but for other teams.

Ludeke still selected no less than 11 Springboks for the season’s opener and he believes experience will be vital.

I wish people and more specifically coaches would get away from the idea that experience is so important , I agree it is ...But it only goes so far, and definately does not guarantee a win.. On game day if you can't perform or just not go...od enough anymore then what good does all that experience do.. Reminds me of PDW hoping that experience would win us the WC. To him ,it was not about who is on form , but who has the most experience. Big mistake as we all know.Good luck to all our teams will be supporting you from Aus.See More
