It depends on what you mean by "break 'em down". If it means break down the little fundamentals of the game to work on the little things, I completely agree.

If it means run them until they can't walk no more or until they puke, I disagree. That's the best way to physically (and maybe mentally) break your team. If you push them too hard before ... See Morethey are phsically ready, it can lead to career ending injuries. There is a much better systematical-way to go about conditioning to get them ready for competition. I'm not saying you can't work them hard, but you shouldn't go overboard.
