Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Brooklyn Botanic Garden Bring your photos and memories of BBG to the Garden this Sunday, 11/1, for our first Memory Collection Day! We'll scan the images and help you submit them to possibly be included in next year's centennial celebration. We know you all have wonderful stories about BBG from the last 100 years and we want to hear them!

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Brooklyn Botanic Garden We have two State Champ trees! And our trees are the first in New York City to receive this honor. The weather should get better tomorrow, so it's the perfect time to come see the gorgeous fall colors and our champion trees!

My favorite BBG trees are the majestic horse chestnuts over by the espalia. And one among many favorites at NY Botanical is the stately catalpa you pass when walking from the Metro North station to the Garden.
- Different places, different moods, both great.

DUMBO was crowded yesterday, too. And the Farmer's Market at the foot of Main Street had some great stuff.

Aw, I am sooo sorry I missed this. The illness lasted till this morning. Grrr...I was all ready with my witch's garden spiel, ingredients in flying ointments, samhein, halloween in different countries (turnips v pumpkins and so on), bat pollinated plants and all the good stuff from Wicked Plants tour (like Dracula/pellagra, and the Salem Witch trials story). May Apple (American Mandrake!)...maybe next year ...
