I was afraid of the torch. My teacher stood next to me for reassurance while I torched. The next time I was still afraid of the torch. My patient teacher stood by me again. The third time I torched all by myself with out even telling anyone "I am gonna torch now." Now (3 days later) I LOVE the torch - I can't get enoug...h of the torch! This somehow seems like a metaphor of my life. (tear) I can hardly believe that the first time I put my hands on PMC was 9/28/09 and three weeks later I am writing with my own hand built silver pen, admiring my tetrahedron, (that I finished after 3 hours of polishing at 2:00a.m. in the hotel) wearing my ring, and teaching my granddaughter how to make one for herself. Your teaching goes on and on, like a ripple effect. With tears in my eyes I thank you.Read More

Wow! I tried to post this over and over and kept getting a weird insertion that I didn't put in there. Sorry for the multiple attempts.

Pattie Anderson Appleby

Pattie Anderson Appleby Wow! I hardly know what to say. As I sit here and think through the past three days, I am realizing just how much information you gave us. I truly enjoyed the experience and greatly appreciated your selflessness in imparting so much knowledge to us all. It was a wonderful workshop. And, remember, anytime you get to Atlanta, let me know!

Rebecca

Rebecca Hi Tim, not sure if you remember, but a couple of years ago I ordered a load of books from you press for our students, I'm thinking of doing it again, is that okay? and what would be the best way to go about ordering them?
I'm putting a form up this week, which will need to be up a week or two, so no mad rush for a reply! Hope all is well. Rebecca

Heidi Horman

Heidi Horman Hi Tim, I'm not sure how to use facebook, hopefully I'm doing it right. I look forward to taking your class at the bead house in Bristol RI. Can't wait (-:

The early Native American silversmiths used this method to chisel & hammer out their bracelets from one silver ingot. No sawing, no soldering (at the beginning). There is one jeweler in Gallup, NM that still does this. Michael's(can't remember his last name) Jewelry Workshop on Coal St. Not sure whether the shop is still there, but if you need more info, let me know and I'll do a little digging.

Great idea, Tim. I'm planning to sign up.

Ali

Ali A familiar name to me ! You are an old friend ;) !

Elizabeth R. Agte

Elizabeth R. Agte Well, it does seem silly to say I am "becoming a fan". I think that happened when I bought your first Metalsmith book, the handlettered one :)
