Jennifer

Jennifer Just finished W5D2 and found it tough. I'm going on holiday tomorrow but taking my running shoes - and my running buddy - with me to attempt W5D3 in another country. How am I ever going to manage 20 minutes when I found the second 8 minute interval so hard today?

You will be surprised at what your body can do! I was terrified of the 20 minute run, but made it. Just take your time and remember it's mind over matter.

Michelle Finally finished week 5 - day one (after 3 attempts). I will go ahead and move on to day 2 tomorrow or Sunday. Persistence is key, never thought I would be able to run like this...to think I use to struggle with 2 minutes.

Chad McCarty Finished W4d1 today, a bit apprehensive today based on my W3d1 run. I guess I'm doing better than I thought. Run went great I even pushed alittle further after my last run interval. Looking forward to my next run. Not ready for a 5k just yet, planning to run a local New Years Day 5k. For everyone who ran their first 5k today, way to go. Keep up the good work yall

Deb Sallee Mead

Deb Sallee Mead Ran my first 5k today. Wasn't real impressed on my time, but they started the clock for ALL of us at the same time. So we "started" when we were standing still in the mob. Time was 39:45, so not sure what it really would have been. Just started running again Tuesday after 2.5 wks off for messed up foot. So part of my r...un was a walk. Guess all things considered it wasn't TOO bad.... Goal for next time is FASTER!!! lol
Good luck all and see you on the Gateway to 8K FB page :)

Jennifer Turkey Trot! I ran 36:16 w/ 11:43 mile av. Not bad for a race where I had to walk the first 2 minutes cause there were 12,000 runners! And today was W9D3!

Yes, the Turkey Trot I did had 5000 runners so it took a while to get through the starting line, and even then, it was slow going because there were so many people on the road. GREAT job with your race!

Sam It was hard running in the heat yesterday but I completed W1D2 - was fire engine red at the end and didn't cool down for an hour but it was a little easier than I expected. Off for an 8km walk now!

Haven't decided what I'm doing after this. I keep vacillating between one hour runner and 8k. You're in the 8k camp, eh?

This is really more about how to work out while travelling.

As for holidays, you could do what I just did: wait until 11:00 PM so your holiday dinner is mostly digested, and go for a night run :)
