CAPPA Do you have a POSITIVE induction story?_________

I had two. My first was ds#1 at 36 weeks after prolonged severe decels. Oral cytotec (during a study in 1995) did nothing overnight, so my water was broken. Five hours later my baby was born after 19 minutes of pushing and good fhts throughout labour. Had the induction not worked within 24 hours, I would have been looking at a c-section. It was a ... Read Morepainless labour. The only thing I would change now is that the hospital I was at had a policy of no epidural until after narcotics had been tried. Since I had the epidural in case of an emergency section and not pain relief, I would now argue the policy and gotten specific doctor's orders for my situation. He was 6 lbs 4 1/4 at 36 weeks exactly.

My second was with my third birth. I had severe HG and was facing declining kidney and liver function as well as several other health concerns. My due date came and went, as did the 41 week mark without a single night of 'maybe this is it'. Baby was doing beautifully on NSTs and biophysicals, but my health was declining rapidly. Cervidil was placed at 4:30pm, I was observed for a bit then sent home with instructions to return at 9:30 for another dose. The second dose was not needed. AROM was performed at 11pm and baby was born at 3:02am after five minutes of pushing. She had some decels once I was fully complete and I pushed without contractions, and the doctor used the vacuum to keep me from losing progress. An epidural was placed, but there was no time for any medication to be run through as I went from 7 to 10 in one contraction during the placement. Her Apgars were 7 and 10. She was 7lbs 15 ozs at 41w5d.

i was somewhat induced. labor stoped as soon as i got to the hospital so they broke my water, i do not suggest by the way, and started pit. nothing happened because i had a stupid nurse that had nothing nice to say to me. within 30 minutes of her leaving, and the pit being turned down, i had my baby. my nurse, that had just come on and had not yet checked on me, was there to catch. the doctor showed up 10 minutes later to check on me and baby.
