Hi Josef! Not at all! Your first two years actually includes the bulk of your kitchen time. The second two years has a larger share of business classes. You can check out the curriculum here: http://www.ciachef.edu/admissions/academics/culinary/ply.asp

Have any of you met Jehangir personally? I have. He was in my group when I started at CIA in '94. All I remember of him was that he was very nice and pleasant to talk to and be around. Spending long hours everyday in a kitchen with people brings out their true personalities and I can say without a doubt Jehangir is a first class individual and an all around nice person.

Hi Samm! When in chef's uniform, no jewelry (with the exception of one plain ring and/or watch) is permitted. It's all about food safety! In liberal arts and business classes, you are allowed "one earring per lobe (post type only), one necklace, one watch, one brooch/pin, one ring per hand, and one bracelet. No gauge, plug, large loop, or dangling earrings are permitted."
