Susan C. Ramzipoor FM radio broadcasts over frequencies ranging from 87.5 to 108.0 MHz, where the unit Hz= s (a.k.a., "cycles per second"). Identify the shortest and longest periods possible for an FM radio signal. (Include units!) PLEASE SOLVE THIS MATH PROBLEM!

THE ANSWER IS: Period is 1 over Frequency ==> T= 1/F
so the shortest range would be 1 over bigger Freq T=1/108 and the unit is micro seconds
the longest range is T=1/87.5 in micro secs

California Homeschool Network We don't use rubrics or scoring sheets, but a friend did send me a link to an interesting research project that might help you. Does anyone know where I can find grading criteria for writing prompts? I have 7, 10, and 12 year-old children. I have rubrics specific to their grade levels; however, they do not specify expectations in regard to length or format (number of paragraphs or words; intro, supporting paragraphs, and conclusion; etc).

Kristen Andry

Kristen Andry Hi all, I'm beginning my homeschooling journey with preschool. I have two boys and live in the san fernando valley. If anyone would be interested in trying out preschool at home with me after the holidays, maybe we can come up with a schedule that could work for us. I'm thinking 1-2 morning per week, just to get my ...(our) feet wet and make sure this is the right decision for us. I just ordered some preschool lesson plans on amazon. :-) We could meet at a park in the beginning to keep it safe.

Have you tried checking with your CHN local contact? There are several on the CHN site that might be helpful depending on what part of the valley you live in. Try checking here and contacting Vicky Frangos or Peggy Foltz http://californiahomeschool.net/about/localContacts.htm. -Loren Mavromati

I'm in the San Fernando Valley. There are several homeschool groups here. A good place to start is our SFV homeschool info night. You can get info on that at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SFVHomeschool . We tend to have a lot of preschool families at these gatherings. There are also park days and field trips around this area too. And, like Loren said, call CHN's local contact for more info. Email me if you want more info! Good luck

I just answered a similar post from a Gardena mom a few days ago. The South Bay Homeschool Network is in your area http://sbhn.50megs.com. It is not a Christian group, but it is a terrific group of families and a nice network for finding families with similar interests, including those of similar faith. -Loren Mavromati

Here in California - we are very diverse. Check the CHN website for a local support group in your area - then get to know the parents. Though the group itself may be secular - many of it's participants may be Christian. If you are searching *specifically* to find a Christian group, then I would suggest finding a Christian ISP.

Vincent Iuculano I need help with a PE Program....any ideas (I have already been to the websites but they really do not have much). What would be required????

Hi Vincent - in California, you're required to have 220 minutes of PE (not just free play) per every 10 days. This is easily provided with sports classes/teams or dance/gymnastics type classes. It would likely require classes 2-3 days per week to fulfill the requirement. Check your local community class schedule for inexpensive classes for young ones, too. And, bottom line, you can provide the classes by picking a PE subject and going to do it!

The answer above is the requirement for public schooled kids, including those homeschooled through a public charter school.

If you are a private school, you choose the PE schedule and activities that work for the kids in your school. You are free to count jump rope and roller skating if you want, or just make sure that they are getting a lot of physical movement and activity in their lives.

If you are interested in joining a PE program, you can check with your local homeschool groups to see what exists in your area. Here is a link to lots of support groups in California - http://californiahomeschool.net/about/supportGroups.htm... See More
