Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Many of you many have seen the news about changes in the US regarding mammography. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation continues to advocate for all Canadian women aged 40-49 having access to the highest standard of breast screening. I was mis-diagnosed because the doctor thought I was too young for a mammogram. Finally after 2 other doctors one finally sent me. Sure enough I was diagnosed with stage 2B Invasive ductal carcinoma at the age of 39 yrs old. We need better screening for younger women too.

I have been getting yearly routine mammos since 40. Mammography didn't catch anything for me....further arm twisting lead to an ultrasound which did identify something. At 45 I was diagnosed with HER2+++ IDC, stage IIB, grade 3 and DCIS, grade 3. Neither of these develop overnight.....we need better, more accurate screening and we need it now!!

Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation In 2009 it is estimated that 180 Canadian men will contract breast cancer, and an estimated 50 will die from the disease. Although this only makes 1% of all breast cancer cases in Canada, it is still important for men to be breast aware. In a follow up to the recent article, Kiss Drummer Peter Criss talks about his experience: http://bit.ly/kiss_bc

Peter Criss talks about his breast cancer diagnoses, and how he discovered it. The former Kiss drummer was shocked, since the disease has a rare occurrence in men

I like that men can now admit to something that was a taboo for us. Well at least open the door for more men to follow.
