CATALYST Following the flesh sucks. It doesn't work. Follow the Spirit. It's hard, but it's worth it! - Gal 5:16-26 (para) (JP)

I think it means that when we become spiritual beings through Christ Jesus, our flesh is weakened and our spirit strengthened. So being spiritual beings, Jesus' yoke is easy and light. Paul said the spirit wants to do things that please God.
Sadly though still having to breath for life, we still have our flesh to deal with. And the flesh wants to do what is contrary to God's will, making it a little hard sometimes when we give way to our flesh. So both statments can be right.....I think.

Interesting second question. Is "Jesus burden light" as in "not heavy", or is Jesus burden is Light" as in the carrying of the Word to all mankind, and all the different kinds of Love He showed by action, principle, and Word.. I haven't read the origional text...but seems ambiguous in KJ and NLT. Both are awesome messages..

There has been a lot of discussion about the new $130 Million building a church has decided to build and relocate to. Of course there are opinions on both sides. Without getting into who & why I'd like to ask a question about this idea in general...

Last thoughts and I'll shut up and listen (read). I think you could argue that after the Cross there's a fundamental shift away from buildings. 1 Peter 2:5 says God is building US into His spiritual Temple - WE are the living stones. Ephesians 2:21 says the same thing - TOGETHER - WE are the Temple. Jesus described Himself as the Temple (which He would rebuild in 3 days) - you and I are now the Body of Christ - the Temple. Acts 7 & 17 (and other places) declare God does not live in buildings built by man.

So, I think there's a real case that the "Temple" is no longer about bricks and mortar - it's about you and I.

And to reiterate my first point - I think this should be much more of a focus - coming together to form a healthy Body/Temple - rather than seeing how many people we can gather in one location at one time. RELATIONSHIPS cannot be massed produced (neither can disciples).... Read More

OK, time for me to listen now. :-)
