Central Penn Business Journal Should a comprehensive regional plan be a priority for the midstate in 2010? Why or why not?

No, central planning always turns out to be a flop. No elite group of planners can ever match the efficiency of the free market in allocating the optimal use of economic resources. Central planning sounds nice, but it's a fool's errand and will do more harm than good.

Wow, Steve; you certainly feel strongly about this, don't you? I don't think I'm into the philosophy that he who has the most money wins.

Generally, the larger the "region" for any planning, the better. Problems with land use, transportation, storm/flood control, sewage, etc don't follow municipal or subdivision boundaries. They don't care about politics, or market forces. Planning should be done, to the greatest extent possible, following a logical scientific boundary: watersheds... See More for sewage and stormwater management, a SMSA for traffic and land use. More progressive areas have had these in the works for some time, which means we should get around to it in a few decades or so.

Central Penn Business Journal Is your business sending holiday cards this year? Why or why not?

yes, clients will often call thanking us for the card or call to schedule an appointment because the card reminded them that they should update their legal documents. It's a nice gesture and it does often help to generate some additional business.
