CHARACTER COUNTS! Official Page What the elephant does here is amazing but the real achievement is what his human trainers taught him. If you can teach an elephant to paint what can we do with children if we put our minds to it?We have no idea what can be accomplished until we commit ourselves. Send me your favorite videos.

Hope we convinced them that their two ultimate goals-improved academic performance and safety-can't be attained unless the culture & climate of school reflects core values: trustworthiness (integrity), respect, responsibility, fairness, caring & good citizenship (rule-following).

CHARACTER COUNTS! Official Page Lily Tomlin: No matter how cynical I get, I can't keep up. New survey: teens are 5 times more likely than those over 40 to believe that one has to lie or cheat in order to succeed. Important because: people with this belief are much more likely to be dishonest in all sorts of situations. NEED YOUR IDEAS: why are kids so cynical? Is there anything that can or should be done about it?

Joel, the thing is we're all experts in this field, as we've all been children, and all had experience of being parented (good and bad) I'll share an example of what i'm talking about: I was asked to deliver a keynote at a conference recently and arrived early to set up my laptop in the auditorium. I held the door open for approx. 70 delegates ... Read Morewho were on their way out of the previous session. All but one said 'thanks'. I can guarentee that if you hold ANY door open for 70 children more than one will say 'thanks!'
I'm in my 40's and still only realising what I've inherited as far as 'character' is concerned.
It's a life-long process, and the good news is everyone has the power to change.

God help us lead this generation of children, when our culture teaches them they don't need to believe in the Bible, nor Jesus, nor the Creator God...

Just ended Red Ribbon Week!!! At our assembly I needed to get their attention so I said, "Character Counts" at that moment I had 500 little voices say back to me, "All the time!" I then said, "All the time..." and they all said, "CHARACTER COUNTS". then there was silence!! They sang Character songs, and spouted off... the Pillars. We had a great time! It still brings tears to my eyes.Read More
