Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead As we get into the holiday period, I wish all a happy holiday and all the best in the coming year. I could not be more proud of the great work of our Navy this past year. I look forward to all that is ahead in 2010. Just posted a podcast at www.navy.mil/cno.

Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead I was inspired when I met the group before the ride. They were even more inspiring on the road. Their courage in combat is equalled by their courage in recovery. What a group, and what a source of pride and motivation for all of us.

Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead Met up with the Wounded Warriors who will be on the ride today. Inspirational, and my thanks go out to all who make these rides possible for those who are recovering. It's my honor to ride with them.

Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead I'll travel to Mayport, FL tonight to see our Sailors there, ride in the last leg of the Ride to Recovery for our wounded tomorrow morning and toss the coin at the Colts-Jaguars game. A full 24 hours, then back to DC by midnight to wrap things up before the holidays.

Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead Had an inspiring visit with our Wounded Warriors at Bethesda yesterday. If you want to see courage and determination - it's there in both the wounded and their families. The staff and caregivers - fantastic.

Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead It really was a great day yesterday. Army played hard, but Navy put an exclamation point on another Commander in Chief's Trophy. Army-Navy really is America's game.

Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead Hosting my Singaporean counterpart this week. He was in DC today and visits the Fleet for remainder for his time here. Pleased we are hosting one of their ships in San Diego for first time ever. A superb Navy that is setting the bar in maritime security and cooperation.

Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead Regret being off FB for so long. Out of town for holiday, visit to Colombia, and a lot of activity in DC. Colombia's Navy and riverine force impressive. Their fight against narco trafficking is terrific. Great and worthwhile visit.

Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead Last Thursday attended an event in Norfolk recognizing the rescue of Capt Rich Phillips from Somalian pirates. A great tribute to his courage and the professionalism and competence of the crew of USS BAINBRIDGE and our great Navy SEALS. No other force could do what we did.
