ChildSafe is in high demand this year with our Gingerbread House Decoration Kits, and we need your help to staff another sale station this Friday. If you are available to help sell Gingerbread House Kits on Friday, December 18th between 7:30am-11:00am, 11:00am-2:30pm, or the whole day, please response as soon as possible.
We are looking for 2 volunteers to fill each slot or 4 volunteers to share the time frame for the day.
Volunteers will help set-up/clean-up (depending on shift), sell gingerbread houses ($20/each), gift wrap (as needed - and it's easy as pie!), smile and have a great time bringing this child-like holiday experience to the masses.
Friday, December 18th, 2009
Volunteer time: 7:30am - 2:30pm
Sell time: 8:00am - 2:00pm
Travis Park Plaza - Lower Tunnel in front of elevators
711 Navarro, Suite 750
San Antonio, Texas 78205
We have 300 more houses to sell before Christmas and any help you can provide is appreciated. Opportunities like these will enable ChildSafe to reach our goal.
Thank you for your consideration!

ChildSafe and San Antonio Crazy Cats Partner Up for Swing Dancing Fundraiser
San Antonio, TX – ChildSafe, the organization that restores dignity, trust and hope to more than 1,700 children traumatized by sexual abuse in 2008 alone, is partnering up with San Antonio Crazy Cats for a fun-style swing dance competition.
The event, which takes place December 6, 2009 at 4:00pm at the Thirsty Horse Saloon, is open to the general public and embraces all levels and styles of swing dance. “It’s more about having fun and supporting a great cause than anything else!” says San Antonio Crazy Cats founder Babette Delgado. Dance styles include Swing, West Coast, Lindy, Rockabilly and East Coast and will be judged by local swing dance instructors and celebrities, including Representative Castro, Shavonne Conroy, Delaine Mathieu, Debbie Figeuroa and Diana Wall.
“We are so excited to partner on this fundraising event,” says Lynda Alston, Executive Director for ChildSafe. “Children who have been sexually abused can take back their childhood if they get help; ChildSafe has the most holistic services for these children and their non-offending families.”
With plenty of local swing dancing groups popping up around town, the event is sure to be a great success for ChildSafe. “We hope to raise $5,000 for ChildSafe at this event,” says Alston. “We’re challenging San Antonians to come out and support ChildSafe and the important work we do for our children.”
Tickets for dance entrants are $40/couple; tickets for admission are $10/person. Tickets for door prizes are also available for $10/each. All tickets can be purchase at www.sacrazycats.com. And of course, flat donations to ChildSafe are always welcome and can be made at www.childsafe-sa.org.
