Chuck Roberts HLN Great response yesterday, thanks! Hi, again. What is your definition of winning in Afghanistan? Is it a stable, corrupt-free state without Taliban strongholds or something more? Most agree it cannot be a terrorist haven. Let's get YOUR VIEWS. The president seeks an exit ramp before deciding troop levels. But it helps to keep this simple: What is *your* definition of winning?

The US ambassador to Afghanistan has dramatically intervened in the debate about troop reinforcements, warning President Obama against committing tens of thousands of extra troops to the country.

Ms. Elsa Fuller , I so agree with you, i guess most of these people here would watch their neighbour beat their family and dont say or do anything because its not their business. Ask yourself this suppose it was happening to us, wouldnt you want aid from another country who could assist?

To all those who served, a special salute on this Veterans Day. You think women should be allowed in direct combat roles? They serve as police officers across America. Kimberly Munley, the hero cop who took out the Ft. Hood shooter is on Oprah today. As the attached article asks: "If women can defend Ft. Hood, can they... defend America?" is it time to end the ban on women in combat? YOUR VIEWS will be indispensible. And Happy Veterans Day!Read More

Getting a late start today - another 'team-building' meeting. OK. Do *YOU* think a couple should have to tell an adoption agency if they have guns in their home? The NRA says the question violates gun-owners' rights to privacy. A Florida bill would make it illegal to ask prosepctive parents about guns - but doesn't spe...cify a penalty. Opponents say the law would put kids in homes with 'gun nuts' who may not keep them secure. Is it valid to ask such a question? What are YOUR VIEWS?Read More

Chuck Roberts HLN Glad you're with us this busy Monday. The Surpeme Court is hearing arguments today on this question: "Life in Prison for Minors -- Cruel and Unusual?" You think if our laws make allowances for juveniles' immaturity, judges should too? Is "lock 'em up and throw away the key" appropriate for youths who never killed? YOUR VIEWS invited!! Thanks for being our on-air partner.

There are just over 100 people in the world in prison for life for crimes they committed as juveniles in which no one was killed; 77 of them are in Florida.

If our prison systems were set up to rehabilitate people, then i would say that someday those kids should be able to walk out of prison, changed men. but since our prison systems are just holding cells until people get out or die, and they learn more about being criminals than decent citizens, then you would have to wonder what that child would be if he were to be released.

Chuck Roberts HLN It's over in Orlando. A gunman sought in a workplace shooting downtown has been caught. Five people shot. At least one died. OPD says Jason Rodriguez was apprehended a few miles away at his mother's residence. The 40-year-old, terminated in 2007 from an engineering services firm, was reported financially wiped out. Lockdown has been lifted. Whew. Still amazed this happened a day after Ft. Hood.

We're all thinking about Ft. Hood. Was perpetual stress from multiple war zone deployments a subtext at all? A 3-star general who once ran Ft. Hood says: "WE HAD NO SENSE GOING INTO THIS EIGHT YEARS AGO NOW THAT WE WOULD STILL BE AT WAR. SOLDIERS WHEN THEY COME BACK I'VE TALKED TO GET DISGRUNTLED BECAUSE THEY'RE AT WAR... AND THE REST OF AMERICA ISN'T AT WAR." The accused officer spent his workday dealing with this. Your impressions? Contribute and be part of our shows. Thanks, everyone!Read More

The Army Major suspected of today's killings at Ft. Hood shooter is alive. Commander Lt. Gen. Robert Cone now says Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is "in custody and in stable condition."
Three others initially taken into custody for interviews have been released, he said. Hasan did not fit the classic pattern of a stressed sol...dier. He never served in a war zone, but reportedly was in line for deployment...fighting hard against it...and pushing to leave the Army.Read More

The shootings at Ft. Hood are beyond sad. Twelve dead, including a shooter. It took place at the processing center where soldiers get paperwork and medical exams for deployment. Was it related to multiple tours and the stress soldiers face before and after rotation into war zones? We just don't know. At least 25,000 pe...ople are at Fort Hood on any given day. None of this makes sense. If he wanted out he could've resigned his commission. He didn't wanna fight fellow muslims... but he's in the support corp. He wouldn't actually be fighting them. We know it couldn't be a terrorist attack cause it would've been larger; the whole base! Plus, You don't rise thru the ranks and make a career out the military just to someday do this. It's insanity! I'm glad he's not dead. Maybe now there'll be answers.

Hi gang..on a busy Thursday. Half of American kids will live in households receiving food stamps before age 20. Unless I am mistaken sedition and insurrection are crimes against the United States Government and the people of the United States of America. I have heard Michelle Bachman, John Boener and the Governor of Texas urge citizens to revolt against the federal government and according to the constitution that is NOT a matter of free speech but a crime ... Read Moreof treason which is punishable by death. I believe this type of crime is racist in nature because we now have a black president and many minorities serving in the government. I feel that this makes it a crime against MY PERSONAL civil rights because I am a Black woman who voted in this government. It is a total disrespect and rebellion against the American Government and should not be tolerated. If this President allows this kind of disrespect against the office of president and the voters of the United States, then he has committed a kind of disrespect against the United States Government and the citizens who placed him in office. Advising citizens to revolt against the Government IS TREASON! Since not too many people seem to notice that a crime has been committed against the people of the United States, I would like to point it out and to say that by allowing this to happen, I feel insecure in my community which is filled with racists who could get the idea that it is okay to act out against minorities once again, as it was many years ago in the South.

the main reason why deeds wasn't elected in VA was because very few knew anything about him. And many people simply didn't care to vote because it isn't a huge issue. Many may not necessarily agree with McDonell, but from what I've seen no one really hates him either. I personally think Obama is doing okay for his first year. People need to stop demnading so much change for him so soon.

These are local elections, about local issues. How many of these positions have national influence? Local elections say more about the person running for office than they do about his/her political affiliations. I know a lot of people who vote for the people they know best in local elections and depend on their party officials to vet the national candidates.

Hey there and welcome! Let's launch a mate debate: Is monogamy realistic? For better or worse, we inhabit an age of hook-ups, celeb break-ups, famous philanderers and generational divorce contagion. Today, we'll hear from the co-authors of "Strange Bedfellows" and "The Myth of Monogamy," who believe serial monogamy may... be more realistic. And they've been happily married 32 years! My husband and I have been monogamous for over 30 years, by our deliberate choice and in accordance with vows we chose to take. We have been free of the illnesses that can plague those with multiple partners and we have been mentally unconcerned with the emotional problems that can stem from having outsiders enter into a couple's relationship.

... Read MoreThat said, I do not presume to judge the choices made by other couples. My husband and I chose each other deliberately, to live with, love, build a family, and grow old with each other. Other couples may not enter into it with the conscious intent of having it last for their lifetime.

In the middle ages, marriage contracts were just that - contracts with expiration dates set by the couple or their fathers, that could be renewed after 10, 20, or other terms, or allowed to lapse. The concept of marriage has changed drastically over the centuries and over the cultures and continues to change. We can't choose what contracts other people will live with.

Monogamy to me is very realistic, if you ever took time to look at the news most of the crazy stuff that goes on is from someone having multiple partners. yea sure you can have a different flavor but it is stressful and mentally exhausting plus disrespectful. Which is why God said it is better to marry than to burn!
