I hate to sign in at public meetings. Sorry, but I don’t wanna give you my name and number before I hear what you have to say. You gotta earn it, I think. But that’s me. I’m suspicious of anyone who wants me to join anything.

Outgoing Mayor Jun Choi and Mayor-Elect Toni Ricigliano are teaming up with the Citizens' Campaign and the Metuchen Edison Woodbridge YMCA to host an Edison Call to Service, an initiative to recruit a new generation of civic leaders in Edison.
December 17th has been set for the Edison Call to Service Summit. It will be ...open to all Edison residents, with special emphasis on those who moved into the Township in the last five years. The program will be held in the Council Chambers at 100 Municipal Boulevard, Edison, NJ at 7pm.
Citizens' Campaign Chairman Harry Pozycki said, "The Edison Call to Service Summit will provide an opportunity for both new and old Edison residents to learn how to use their skills and talents to tackle the problems facing the Township."
Mayor Jun Choi said, "Throughout my time as Mayor I have been a strong advocate for involving more, new voices in Edison government. As I wrap my tenure, I'm pleased to partner with the YMCA, the Citizens' Campaign and Mayor-Elect Ricigliano as we invite people to take action and learn their civic responsibilities."
Mayor-Elect Toni Ricigliano said, "Edison residents are ready for the Call to Service, our township has much to gain from the vast amount of talent, skill and leadership in the community. I thank Mayor Choi for joining me in the Call to Service, and look forward to working with the YMCA and the Citizens' Campaign to cultivate new leaders."
William Lovett said, "We look forward to working with the Edison officials and the Citizens' Campaign in this endeavor to bring more citizens to the service of their community."
The Edison Call to Service is part of the Citizens' Campaign's "Jersey Call to Service Campaign," a public service initiative to inspire citizens to participate in the leadership of their communities and reverse the tide of government waste and corruption.
The Edison Call to Service Summit will shine a light on public service leadership opportunities in Edison which while taking little time allow regular citizens to play a significant role in shaping the policies of their community. Edison residents will also have a chance to meet their elected officials, and they will learn about the leadership opportunities on Edison's boards and commissions, such as the Environmental Commission, the Recreation Commission, and the Budget Task Force.
In addition to Mayor Choi and Mayor-Elect Ricigliano, the Summit will be led by Citizens' Campaign Chairman Harry Pozycki and William Lovett, President of the Metuchen Edison Woodbridge YMCA which is co-sponsoring this event.
This Summit is free and open to the public. There is limited seating, so attendees are asked to RSVP to Lauren Skowronski at lauren@jointhecampaign.com or (732) 548-9798 x.2.
