City of Madison, Wisconsin Government On August 14 & 15 leases for most downtown area apartments are up. That means that thousands of folks will be moving out of their old apartments and into new ones. New this year, the Streets Division will be emptying refuse and recycling carts everyday between Monday August 10 & Friday August 14.

Goodman Pool Family Fun Day is on Tuesday, July 28, 2:00-3:30p.m. Bring the kids to meet the Madison Fire Department's Lake Rescue Team. The team will be there - in full SCUBA gear - to demonstrate a deep water rescue. Kids will also get a chance to check out their boat and a fire engine. http://www.cityofmadison.com/parks/pool/

Great -- another downtown event (Madison Marathon, IronMan) which will close major thoroughfares on a Sunday morning. For those of us who work/worship at downtown churches, another Sunday traffic nightmare! I support these events, but it's really a challenge for those of us who have to use the streets on those days. And no, it's not possible for me to bike to work that day, although I often do on weekdays.
