The average price of regular in metro Atlanta hit $2.57, up 17 cents in the last week and 36 cents in the last month. The average price of premium hit $2.89.

No doubt a street grid offering multiple options is better than funneling traffic onto busy thoroughfares - we see that even in Atlanta - but that was an awful big increase in cyclists I saw last year.

I think we should try both. And anything else we can think of ;).

I think one of the largely untapped resources to make biking more attractive is in requiring developers to make pathways for pedestrians and cyclists (but not cars) to cut through such an office park, garage, subdivision or apartment complex. Your sandwich shop may be 0.3 miles away on the other side of an office complex - but because there is a ... Read Morewall or a chain link fence you have to drive 1.3 miles around it. Or getting to your next door neighbor that may be a few yards away but is in a different cul du sac...
