College Forward Happy Holidays and New Year, y'all.

College Forward

College Forward In preparation for the holidays, here's a heart-warming article about quadruplets all getting into Yale this year.

www.nytimes.com
For the first time in anyone’s memory, Yale offered admission to quadruplets, but whether any one of the siblings winds up there remains an open question.

College Forward Love this list. Weird scholarships. If any students fit any of these descriptions, don't be shy about applying.

College Forward On the second day of Christmas, CoFo friends gave...motivational incentives for students. We could use $5, $10, $20 restaurant gift cards and college swag (i.e. banners, shirts, hats) to help pump up our high school students about college. If you can donate this holiday season please consider our cause. Contact: lrhodes@collegeforward.org

College Forward This weekend we updated our Great Wall of College Acceptances at our headquarters. But, you know, it's just so hard to keep up. Keep checking back and congrats to our high school seniors who have received acceptance letters so far.

College Forward

College Forward On the first day of Christmas, our friends gave to CoFo...lots of school supplies.

Help with our holiday wish list. Our students need supplies like mechanical pencils, pens, highlighters, Post-it Notes, Post-it
Flags, White Out, white note cards 4”x3”, flash Cards, small Legal
Pads, small flash drives. Even small gifts go... a long way, so if you can donate this holiday season please consider our cause. Contact: lrhodes@collegeforward.org

Thanks to the volunteers that have come out for the last two. It's not too late to come help students turn their words into cash for college. To volunteer email volunteer@collegeforward.org

College Forward Over at NY Times Choice blog, they're talking about the isolation a student might feel when they move far away from home for college. It's worth checking out.

I was a first generation college student and it was tough being away from my parents. I like the suggestions made in the blog comments, which basically include finding yourself and getting active. I joined student groups, made new friends, got into fitness, etc. You have to start filling your time with activities that will result in personal enrichment and growth.

Thanks for the tips, Dee. No doubt getting more involved on campus is the best way to make friends and feel more connected. Anyone have some ideas of groups students can join?
