College of Wooster So far, the Fighting Scot is pulling the Wittenberg Tiger's tail in the big mascot face-off, but Wooster's lead has narrowed from 2,000 votes to 1,600 in the past week. Remember, you can vote once a day between now and Nov. 14.

Despite my long love of bengal tigers over men with hairy legs in skirts, alas, my vote must go to the school collecting $45,000 a year form me...

I should try to find my photos of the day we had an ice storm, in the late 70s. The trees looked like crystal.

College of Wooster In case you missed all the fun this weekend when Michael Feldman hosted a live broadcast of "Whad'Ya Know?" from the Wooster campus -- including COW quiz questions and music by the Scot Pipers -- NPR has posted the audio file of the show.

Source: www.publicbroadcasting.net
This week on WhadYa Know?, we visit Wooster, Ohio, land of the Scots. We dabble in some of Woosters history with Paul Locher, churn some butter with hardware-of-yesteryear from Jay Lehman, and sample some regional cheese and wine... ...

FYI, the old version of the website had an IS database with titles, too. That's how Wilkipedia knew what famous alumni's ISes were.

The higher ed specialist at my firm (Elliance) has been courting College of Wooster for 2 years to no avail — and now he knows why: in his words, "they were too busy getting it right" to return his calls.

Great compliment on this new website. :-)

College of Wooster USA Today reports on the WooCorps summer jobs program, with quotes from Wooster students and Dean Kurt Holmes.

Borrowing a page from FDR's New Deal, some colleges are putting more students to work this summer than usual. The goal: to make sure they can afford to come back in the fall.

College of Wooster Duncan Jones '95 has been getting lots of attention for his first feature film, Moon. Several articles have noted the connection between some of the film's themes and his I.S. project at Wooster, including this piece from Time Magazine.

Thanks, Andrew. We're hoping to get both the film and Duncan himself back to Wooster sometime this year for another showing. Fingers crossed!

The idea was that closing Kitt was a reversible decision when the economy improves. Last I heard, they were considering having Soup and Bread in Mackey Hall of Westminster Church House.

Many people (I don't care either way because I am Jewish!) are irked about a Presbyterian school with a Buddhist prez. Thoughts? Again, I myself do not care.

As far as I'm aware the school is no longer officially a Presbyterian school. I could be wrong, but that was my understanding.

Glad to see the tradition continues. When we did it in '91 they used sideline warmers to melt the snow.
