Hagan just isn't qualified. Cabral, maybe. However, let's do it right this time. Interview more than one candidate. This is, of course, assuming Bohn is smart enough to end this disaster.

WOW! We've done a great job setting the bar pretty low! I remember when the goal was the BIG 12 Championship and National Champs. It wasn't that long ago! But I guess fighting to be in the top HALF...HALF! of the big 12 NORTH is good enough. Pathetic.

And now we storm the field for wins against Kansas and Texas A&M? Really sad. You can tell there is no expectations anymore.

Speaking of women's basketball ..... has Lisa Van Goor's banner been replaced in the rafters of the events center? It was missing all last year, and nobody seemed to think it was important enough to replace the number/banner of CU basketball's (men's OR women')s highest all time scorer.

With the breath of football fans at Colorado and Texas collectively held and TV cameras focused on him at the ESPN Zone in Anaheim, Calif., Darrell Scott nonchalantly pulled on a baseball cap emblazoned with a Buffaloes logo and declared his intention to sign CU's national letter of intent.

I'm not trying to attack Barnett. He was here for a long time, even before he was head coach. The "scandal" wasn't really his fault, and 70-3 wasn't either. I am just trying to point out that CU football has a different set of challenges than other places. In Nebraska, where the donations flow in and the games have been sold out for decades, it... Read More might be possible to just fire a coach and bring in a new guy and expect success. The foundation is already laid for success. The only thing that slowed Oklahoma down was probation. The Buffs rose to prominence at a time when the rest of the Big 8 was at an all time low, and our only real competition was Nebraska. And even then, it was after four or five years of McCartney losing, and people saying he should be fired. We are a proud program that goes back a long ways, but the difficulties we are experiencing now are not going to be changed just by firing a few people, they are the same difficulties that we have always faced, and at times we have been able to rise against that adversity and win. That is what makes our program so special and unique in comparison to some of the other programs in the Big 12. Right now we are going through a tough time, but I think it is unfair to classify it as total failure and attribute that to Hawkins and Bohn. They want to win as badly as we want them to. Darrell wanted to win too, and things didn't work out. I think there is a bright future for him and for CU football. Hawk is not a bum, he is not an idiot, he is a good guy and he will be able to handle the attacks by the media and the fans as well as anyone. To me, Hawk exemplifies the CU spirit, he is not a disgrace to it. When things are good it is easy to smile and drink champaigne, but when things go badly a good coach has to handle his team rightly and realize that he is not coaching professionals, but preparing young adults for their future, which for the most part is not going to be in football. It bothers me to see a good man being attacked, just like it bothered me the way Barnett was attacked when he was fired. That's all.
