Computer Room I completed an upgrade from Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) to 10.6 (Snow Leopard) using the $29 upgrade package. It worked flawlessly. Only one application casualty so far. No data loss. Admittedly I haven't been digging very hard yet.

Computer Room We've posted 4 new classes and added a new date for a 5th. Right now they're all very geeky, but hey, what do you expect from a place with Tux for a logo?

Computer Room Thanks to some awesome help from Crystal (thanks Crystal!), we're caught up on our receiving backlog, which means the store looks full(er) again. We even have some new stuff out, including some Palm Pre accessories.

I'm curious, would fans of our shop be interested in some of our less-mundane repair stories? What kinds of info would you like to see here? Send me a msg or just comment. Thanks :)

Computer Room We've been telling people for a while now not to do things that will get them infected (use IE, install LimeWire, etc.) because no amount of anti-virus can protect them from themselves. This article explains why.

The prevalence of short lived variants reflects a tactic by miscreants aimed at overloading security firms so that more damaging strains of malware remain undetected for longer, according to a study by Panda Security.

Last week I saw a localized ad here on FB for the Wang Gang restaurant. The first FB ad I've ever followed, the link led me to a new locally owned, non-franchised restaurant in Edwardsville, IL (on IL-157, behind the Motomart). The Wang Gang is an upscale Asian restaurant at not-upscale prices...

Computer Room Kara posted on her wall that Limewire is the quickest way to get your computer infected. I would add that using Internet Explorer (and its companion, Outlook Express) is nearly as dangerous as installing Limewire. Do yourself a favor... Get Firefox, Go
