Cooking with All Things Trader Joe's
We always have a lot of pumpkin on our hands after Halloween, and of course TJ's has plenty of canned pumpkin. It's nutritious, low in calories, and packed with antioxidants...

I'd like to try a big batch of this in the crock-pot using steel cut oats. I think I would need to cut the amount of milk. Anybody tried this?

I always have fresh garlic on hand, but I'm also a big fan of Trader Joe's frozen Crushed Garlic. Unlike jarred crushed garlic (blech), this actually tastes like fresh garlic. The convenient tray contains cubes of crushed garlic, each measuring 1 teaspoon.
If you're sauteing something, toss the cubes in still frozen... - they take a minute to thaw in the
pan, so it's less likely to scorch or brown than fresh garlic.

A friend once joked that all food tastes better on a stick. I haven't done any formal tests, but I suspect he may be on to something. Grilled chicken is healthy but can get tiring. Slice them into strips and thread them onto skewers and voila! Instant fun...

I came from the original land of satay, Malaysia! I must say, in order to make this recipe truly authentic, you need to use dark meat, a little fat on the meat makes it juicier/tastier. Best marinate the meat overnight. Yes, watch the fire while the meat is being cooked. A truly good tasty dish needs attention and time. Bon appetit! ;)

One of our favorite dishes, but we save time by using Trader Joe's Peanut Satay Sauce. They still carry it in California!

Earlier this week, we made Halloween finger foods like hot dog mummies and witch fingers using crescent roll dough and puff pastry. The fun continues with even more Halloween-themed foods that should spruce up any party...

Trader Joe's Mini Croissants: Just let sit out overnight and bake in the morning. They're delicious, flakey, and buttery.
Williams-Sonoma sells mini-croissants at 3x the price of Trader Joe's... and here's the interesting part: both stores have the same exact supplier!

Same goes for the Chocolate Croissants. Thank you Trader Joe's for another great deal!

Will you ever open a Trader Joes in the Houston or Woodlands area of Texas. I shopped at one in California when I visited a friend in San Diego and I desperately want to have one here in this area of Texas.

This Trader Joe's-inpsired cookbook has been out since 2008, but when spotted on a bookstore shelf last night, we got a bit giddy inside. It's L.A.'s favorite grocery store (based on the amount of comments Trader Joe's posts receive), so maybe this will be our favorite cookbook. ...

@Beth Thanks- glad you like the first book! About 30 out of 120 recipes in the portable book are from the first cookbook. So about 75% new and some from the blog as well.
PS - I'd love to know your favorites from the hardcover too! :)
