The Cool Camping concept was born after a weekend camping trip to Caerfai Bay, South Wales in spring 2005. After a memorable sun-filled three days of walking, surfing, country cider and organic sausages, we began to plan our next trip. But where to go?
On a trip to the local bookshop, we found that the camping books were aimed at caravanners, and consisted of thousands of directory-style campsite listings. What we really wanted was a book that understood contemporary campers and delivered a hand-picked selection of outstanding tent-oriented campsites.
So Cool Camping was born. Lots of pictures and even more words have been combined to create something very special; a book that actually tells today's campers what they want to know. What are the downsides of each site as well as the upsides? Where's the nearest decent pub? What is there to do if it rains? Really useful stuff to make planning a camping weekend easy and fun.
