At 40 years old I LOVE LOVE LOVE shape skis. i cant help but think that tec has pushed the strain of the sport on the body past its breaking point. When a shape ski grabs a hold of something in a fall, or releases when you are a bit off balance the results seem to be more viloent than in the past. Dosent matter how many nets you put up, it all starts at the feet.

It seems to me that the biggest problem in the technical events is that the offset is so large. There would be increaced speed with a reduction in offset but this would reduce the need for athletes to drive the ski so hard and get such a strong reaction. I agree with the above comment, but there shoudl be something done. Maybe put more strict guidelines on base composition or stifness of the skis for men and women in order to reduce the reactive energy that the ski generates.
